Austin Urban Gardens
I’m really impressed with the work I’ve been reading about on the Austin Urban Gardens blog. While I have no connection to their work or services, nor have I met them, I am pretty inspired by the number of gorgeous fruits and vegetables they grow in raised box gardens. Corn? Onions? Shallots? Strawberries? My three tomato plants and a jalapeño look pretty modest by comparison. Also, it’s impressive that they have a hundred-day-and-going streak of not buying food at a grocery store.
I’m a newbie to vegetable gardening, so seeing a thing like this fills my head with the possibilities. And hopefully, eventually, my stomach with awesome produce.
